An Ode to Success

Ode to Success - Zen
Ode to Success

A sonnet

I thought upon my life I had success:
I worked to tiring, never took a break,
Made good money. But it all was a mess—
I had to step away for my life’s sake.

Now I’m my own boss, and make my own time,
I have more energy, and thus freedom—
Now I’ve got no corporate ladder to climb,
I’m so pleased with what my life has become.

I travel more, ‘tho money’s not as great,
No promotions, but a fine family,
My soul feels unleashed, to love and create—
At last, emotional stability.

No, success is not a destination:
It’s a spiritual journey to run.
